Description | methyl 4-formyl-2-(hydroxymethylidene)-3-({1H,2H,3H,4H,9H-pyrido[3,4-b]indol-1-yl}methyl)hex-5-enoate belongs to the class of organic compounds known as harmala alkaloids. Harmala alkaloids are compounds with a structure based on harmaline, harmine, harmalol, harman or a derivative of those parents. These parents are beta-carbolines, consisting of a pyrimidine fused to the pyrrole moiety of an indole to form a pyrido[3,4-b]indole. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on methyl 4-formyl-2-(hydroxymethylidene)-3-({1H,2H,3H,4H,9H-pyrido[3,4-b]indol-1-yl}methyl)hex-5-enoate. This compound has been identified in human blood as reported by (PMID: 31557052 ). Dialdehyde is not a naturally occurring metabolite and is only found in those individuals exposed to this compound or its derivatives. Technically Dialdehyde is part of the human exposome. The exposome can be defined as the collection of all the exposures of an individual in a lifetime and how those exposures relate to health. An individual's exposure begins before birth and includes insults from environmental and occupational sources. |
